Woman Killed By Metal Object on I-95

Connecticut (June 18, 2011)  Sara Betancourt was a passenger in a 2003 Ford Escape, when she was killed by a metal object that came through the windshield.  According to the Connecticut State Police the accident happened in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Exit 4 at 12:30 p.m.  Elizabeth Martinez was driving the 2003 Ford Escape in the left center lane when the object struck the vehicle.  Martinez stopped the vehicle on the on the Mianus River Bridge.  Sara Betancourt was taken to Stamford Hospital and pronounced dead.  Connecticut State Police said there were no witnesses to the fatal accident and they will continue to investigate.  Police are asking if anyone witnessed this accident or may information to call the Connecticut State Police at 860-685-8190
