Woman killed in roll over crash on I-95 in Florida

Florida (July 1, 2012)  A woman from Fort Pierce was killed in an accident on I-95 in Martin County.  The crash occurred Sunday morning near exit 102 (High Meadow Avenue) in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 according to FHP.

Fernando Betancourt, a 17-year-old male, was driving a 2000 Ford Explorer when the tread from the right rear tire seperated causing Betancourt to lose control of the vehicle.  The Explorer rolled over twice and came to rest in the grassy median.

Candida Betancourt, a 39-year-old female, was the only passenger killed in the crash.  She was not wearing a seat belt.

The three other passengers and the driver, who were all wearing seatbelts, suffered only minor injuries.
