Woman Killed in Rollover Crash on I-95 / New Jersey Turnpike

New Jersey (September 15, 2011)  A Jamesburg woman was killed when her Ford Explorer overturned in the northbound lanes of I-95 / New Jersey Turnpike this morning near exit 8A.  The fatal crash happened around 7:30 a.m. in South Brunswick, closing the inner lanes of the NJ Turnpike.

According to the New Jersey State Police the driver, Nicole Gandy was traveling north on the inner lanes of the turnpike when for some unknown reason the Explorer overturned, and struck the guardrail.  Gandy was not wearing a seat belt and ejected during the crash.

Nicole Gandy, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The inner lanes of I-95 / New Jersey Turnpike north were closed for several hours resulting in a backup of over 15 miles.

The New Jersey State Police are investigating the cause of the fatal accident
