Woman Killed When Ejected from Pickup on I-495

Delaware (February 14, 2012)  A 45-year-old woman was killed when she was ejected from a pickup truck in a single vehicle crash in Newport.  The crash occurred around 7:20 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 495 near Route 141, according to the Delaware State Police.

Brian Jubb, 42, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup south on I-495 with his wife, Donna Jubb and their dog when the vehicle went off the roadway and into the grass median.  The Silverado struck a tree and rolled down a steep embankment coming to a rest in a marshy area.

Donna Jubb was ejected from the vehicle during the collision and was transported to Christiana Hospital.  She later died from her injuries.  Brian Jubb was injured and also taken to Christiana Hospital.  He was wearing a seatbelt.  The dog died at the scene.

Police closed one lane of I-495 as they worked the accident scene.

The Delaware State Police are still investigating the accident.
