Georgia (June 15, 2012) A Bryan County Deputy was killed in an accident on I-95 early Friday morning. The crash occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95, near mile marker 96, in Pooler according to Georgia State Patrol.
Robert Crapse, was driving home in his K-9 unit when he was hit head-on by a wrong way driver. The wrong way driver, Patricia Ann Collins, was driving southbound in the northbound lane in a white Toyota Corolla with her headlights off.
The 32-year-old Crapse died at the scene. Collins, a 23-year-old from Richmond Hill, was airlifted to Memorial University Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
The accident is under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
