Wrong-way Driver Flees Accident Scene on I-95

Rhode Island (October 26, 2011)  A driver narrowly escaped a head-on collision with a wrong-way driver on I-95 south near Exit 13-Airport Connector Road.  Mahran Izoli was traveling south on I-95 around 1:30 a.m. and was forced to slam into the center concrete barrier to avoid a black sedan that was northbound in the southbound lanes.

Izoli was able to get out of his vehicle before it erupted in flames after the wreck.  The wrong-way driver did not stop at the crash site.

Rhode Island State Police and the fire department responded to the scene.
