Young woman struck and killed on I-95

Florida (December 19, 2011)  A young woman was struck and killed while walking on Interstate 95 Monday evening in Jacksonville.  The victim was found around 8:25 p.m. when a Police officer making a u-turn spotted the body on the guardrail near Exit 335-Old St. Augustine Road

 

Nicole Christine Follmer

The victim, 22 year-old Nicole Follmer, of Jacksonville was attempting to cross I-95 and was struck by an unknown vehicle according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Follmer had been involved in an altercation in the parking lot of Chili’s restaurant on Old St. Augustine Road and was transported to Baptist Medical South around 5 p.m. with undisclosed injuries.  Police believe that she left the hospital at 6:45 p.m. prior to being cleared by a doctor.

Nicole may have been trying to return to the Chili’s parking lot to retrieve her truck, which was less than a mile from the hospital.
